The challenge is - to avoid sentimentality
Rigour & compassion, together, engage me.
We are not only programmed to read fellow humans by looking and projecting onto them, but we can also empathise and imagine ‘other’. We know what it is to feel, and to reveal by degrees, what is within. The body is to be read internally and externally. It is a natural arena for metaphor. The articulation of body parts, the implication of balance, stacking, and instability, surface formed by will or as a result of arrival. Using the gamut of social sculptural posturing. Embodying the qualities of non-human things.
